Sorry McCain but I Don't See It

But, Charlie, again, we've got to remember what the desire is in this nation at this time. It is for no more politics as usual and somebody's big, fat resume maybe that shows decades and decades in that Washington establishment, where, yes, they've had opportunities to meet heads of state ... these last couple of weeks ... it has been overwhelming to me that confirmation of the message that Americans are getting sick and tired of that self-dealing and kind of that closed door, good old boy network that has been the Washington elite” -Sarah Palin, first exclusive interview with ABC anchor Charles Gibson in Fairbanks, Alaska

I seen my father making a scene because of outrageous gas prices. I seen my co workers whine and complain about the price of fruits. Price of milk. Price of everything. I seen a mom break down because she doesn’t know how she will afford to send her kid to college. And I know, somewhere, there is someone worse off than what I seen.

How can a man who owns 8 houses –when plenty of Americans could barely own one -- understand? How can a man who employ household servants for over $280,000 a year –when plenty of Americans live paycheck to paycheck – understand? I seen a lot of things but I really don’t see how McCain could understand.

McCain is an elite to me. I have nothing against him but he needs show me he can put himself in our shoes -- the majority of America's shoes -- for me to trust him.

  • Yes, I think you hit on one of his big problems. How does he become relatable to the average Joe who is about to lose his job, his home and his healthcare? His wife is out there wearing dresses that are worth more than most houses! And he has 8 houses!

Instead, he is portraying Obama as the elitist because of his education. How do you see that playing out?

  • Well McCain really shouldn't be saying anything since he himself enter a private school. Also, Obama was able to enter such a great school because of a scholarship. Why is McCain twisting intelligence and hard work into qualities of an elitist? The last time I check, we want those in a President.
